PRO TIP

How to order refrigeration
for your new restaurant

Opening a new restaurant? Finding and purchasing the right refrigerator is crucial to your success, after all few other appliances run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Here are a few key things to think about when you’re selecting your new refrigeration unit:

Capacity

Capacity means how much food your commercial refrigeration unit can hold. Think about how much you need to store, as well as shelf capacity and flexibility.

Doors

Do you need swing doors or sliding? Glass or solid? Full size doors or two half size doors? Imagine opening your refrigeration unit and figure out what you need.

Size

Measure your space correctly and make sure the appliance you’re looking at won’t block thoroughfares. Nothing is worse than a fridge or cooler unit that’s constantly in your way!

Ventilation

Most commercial refrigeration shouldn’t butt up against a wall. Before you buy a refrigeration unit check the manufacturer’s specs to confirm you have enough space behind for the correct air flow.

Placement

Keep your fridges away from direct sunlight, or else your fridge might be forced to work too hard to keep your items cool and safe.

Usability and Cleaning

This is an easy one, but hard to do: read your manual when your fridge arrives. We know you have lots going on in your restaurant, but making sure to keep your fridge clean and working effectively will lead to less service calls and save you money in the future.

When you open a restaurant, we know you have your hands full. The last thing you need on opening day is to realize your fridge is in the wrong location and your staff keep bumping into it. Everyone gets slowed down and annoyed.
